Hand Dyed Maple Wood Vase
Oakland-based designer Melanie Abrantes has quite literally carved herself a reputation as one of the hot new names in creative woodwork. Cosmic in colour and form, Melanie has hand-turned and hand-dyed these tactile bud vases to mirror the marble pattern found on the maple tree blossom. This experimental ice-dyeing technique separates the pigments in the dye and brings out the grain of the maple wood in a spectrum of colours. A totally new approach to wood staining. Each vase is as unique as the solid piece of maple wood from which it is made.
Measures approx. 11 cm high. Comes with a glass vial inside. Each piece is handmade and unique and the colour and grain may differ slightly from the image shown.
